Overall, the conference offered excellent opportunities for the industry and the academic world to interact. Individuals from around the world were able to come together and discuss the current and future prospects of an industry in its infancy. However, as this conference moves forward (potential 2020 sites include: Mexico, USA, Canada, and South Africa), efforts are needed to diversify discussion of other insects used as feed throughout the world. Furthermore, efforts should be made to highlight insects as food given this industry is growing at a rapid rate globally due to the development of products, such as cricket flour.
