South Korea recently hosted a world symposium on edible insects, and they continue to publicly advocate for the edible insect industry.

Now, during the Winter Olympics, they continue to lobby the world to wake up to the benefits of insect protein to our bodies and the benefits of insect farming to our planet by holding a two-day symposium on edible insects in PyeongChang alongside the Olympics.

They do have a captive global audience, nice move.

In addition, the ministry will operate “K-Food Plaza” in PyeongChang during the Olympic period to introduce traditional dishes, ingredients and utensils as well as the representative (insect) cuisines of Gangwon Province.
