It was previously assumed prehistoric man got his protein from mammals, nuts, and leaves. Turns out, they now believe ancient man also relied heavily on insect protein.

Seems only natural…

Insects accounted for almost half of the diet of early man millions of years ago…it was previously assumed early man lived on a diet of mammal meat or nuts…discovery came by chance after researchers carried out tests on mud…researchers confirmed that sediments were in fact an ancient termite nest.
