So these little wingless stinging wasps can be mistaken for ants. But it seems what they were doing in the house was looking to parasitize wood-boring beetles.

But the actual “First” is finding these wasps infesting human habitation in North America.

…But the identification, in this case, represented a first. Sclerodermus macrogaster had previously never been reported infesting a home in North America. Skvarla saw it as an opportunity to dig a little further into the genus…
