Our guest today is Chirps sales manager and entomologist Jenna Florio. We talk about Chirps new cricket protein powder, tarantulas, ants, and all kinds of other buggie stuff. Foggy from Entosense stops by to deliver some bugs and nutritional profiles. Over in the Bugible Kitchen, Aly Moore prepares Queen Weaver Ant Stuffed Bok Choy.
QWA-Stuffed Bok Choy
Bugs needed: Queen Weaver Ants
Recipe: Bok Choy + couscous + cabbage + carrot + queen weaver ants + honey = yum!
Ingredients:
1 ½ cups couscous
½ cup carrots diced
½ cup cabbage diced
4 heads baby bok choy
Salt & pepper to taste
Honey to taste
Queen Weaver Ants to taste
Instructions:
- In a medium pot, combine couscous and water. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally for around 8 minutes.
- Add carrot, cabbage, queen weaver ants, and salt and pepper to taste
- Remove from heat and stir
- Clean and strip bok choy crosswise into cups with leaves still attached at the end
- Lay out two spoonfuls of couscous mix on serving plate. Set bok choy on top and fill with an additional spoonful of couscous mix
- Sprinkle queen weaver ants on top for an added crunch
- Drizzle with honey to taste
- Enjoy!
